Spring is Here! Winter has come and gone in the blink of an eye, but before we get into strawberry season there are some news we wanted to share with you.
In January, we attended the Wisconsin Frest Fruit and Vegetable Conference to learn of new crops and techniques for the farm. The blueberries craze was a popular topic at the conference, as well as climate effects on fruit crop survival and yields. Many farmers are looking to diversify and expand their fruit crops and so are we! We will start variety testing of blueberries and honeyberrys (Haskaps) this spring for future expansions. The return to cooler weather in March brought us full swing into maple syrup season. We are excited to offer Uncle Mike's locally sourced maple syrup to our customers this year. Do you still have berries in your freezer? Just this weekend we decided to put some of our frozen berries from last summer to good use by whipping up some strawberry muffins in the kitchen. They were to die for! Strawberry Season will be here before we know it and the warmer weather will be bringing us outdoors. We look forward to another great growing season in 2017 and hope to see you soon! Make sure to Like Us On Facebook for daily updates on what is happening on the farm! Comments are closed.
